Ethel Gray Terry (born October 2, 1882 in Oakland , California , † January 6, 1931 in Hollywood ) was an American silent film actress.

Life

Ethel Terry wanted to become a painter after finishing school and training to paint with watercolors. But she ultimately pursued her mother's profession and first became a dancer before playing on Broadway . In 1914 she entered the film business, but initially only appeared as an extra in "The Sign of the Cross". But she soon played the leading roles in several silent films.

From 1925 her career slowly came to an end and Ethel Terry only occupied supporting roles. She then withdrew completely from the film business and died in Hollywood in 1931 at the age of 49 after a year of illness. Ethel Terry was married to actor Carl Gerard .
