Etienne Cap

Etienne Petrus V. Cap (born January 26, 1942 in Burcht near Antwerp ) is a Belgian solo trumpeter who has emerged in the field of jazz and light music.

Live and act

Cap received his first instrumental lessons from his brother Jean Cap. After studying at the conservatory in his hometown from 1955 to 1961, he became principal trumpeter in the BRT radio and television orchestra in 1964 . In 1971 Max Greger brought him into his orchestra; Between 1977 and 1992 he was part of Hugo Strasser's orchestra ; he also played with James Last and Helmut Brandenburg . He also produced records under his own name and worked as a studio musician, arranger and composer. With Giuseppe Solera and Georges Delagaye he founded the music publisher Solcade and the label Alpana in 1979, for which he recorded the LP Latin Dancing and the single Urbanus Melodie . He also recorded under the pseudonym Stephan Pola. In 1997 he retired from active musical life for health reasons.
