Georges Delagaye

Georges Delagaye (born April 24, 1937 - September 1, 2012 ) was a Belgian trombonist , arranger and composer who worked in the field of big band - jazz , pop and easy listening .

From the 1960s on, Delagaye played in big bands and entertainment orchestras such as the Ambros Seelos Show Band, the Master McCalhoun's Big Band and in the orchestras of James Last , Etienne Cap (Stephan Pola), Werner Drexler , Heinz Störrle , Hugo Strasser and the Munich Connection by Dusko Goykovich , for whom he also composed. With his own orchestra he recorded LPs such as Mr. Trombone, Speak Softly Love , Dancing With Georges Delagaye, Pop Corner and Kidio for labels like Polydor in the 1970s . As a studio musician he also worked with Claudja Barry , Boney M. ( Oceans of Fantasy , 1979), Gitte Hænning ( Ungeschminkt , 1982), La Bionda , Amanda Lear and Sister Sledge . In 1979 he co-founded (with Etienne Cap and Giuseppe Solera ) the music publisher Soleade and the label Alpana . In 1981 he worked as an arranger with Herb Geller and the NDR dance orchestra . Most recently Delagaye lived in Munich, where he ran the Egal Musikverlag .
