The Schloss Münchhausen manor house is one of three buildings on the former estate of the von Münchhausen family , which had existed as a free saddle yard since the 13th century. The building ensemble also includes the stone residential tower of the Schulenburg and the former brandy distillery.

The mansion is an elongated three-storey building, the roof of which is covered with Solling panels. The robes are made in Renaissance ornamentation. Stacius von Münchhausen probably had the manor house built by Johann Hundertossen from Hameln. Georg Otto von Münchhausen carved the family coat of arms into a sandstone above the entrance door. It consists of his initials, those of his wife and the Münchhausen motto "Mine Borg is God". His son Hieronymus von Münchhausen was born in the house in 1720 and died there in 1797. Jerome spent part of his childhood and old age in the house.

The manor house was renovated in 1986 and 2016.
