The Ettelsberg cable car is a detachable gondola lift on the 838 m high Ettelsberg in the Rothaargebirge near Willingen ( Hesse , Germany ).
Railway description
The Ettelsberg cable car was put into operation on December 1, 2007 and replaces a double chairlift from 1971. The cabins for 8 people have ground level access and slow down in the stations to enable easier entry and exit. Wheelchairs, mountain bikes, strollers, sleds, etc. can be transported without any problems. The cable car is in operation all year round. It opens up a hiking and recreation area with the Hochheideturm , Ettelsberghütte (Siggi's Hütte), children's playground and MTB trails. In the winter season, the Ettelsberg summit is the starting point for several snow-covered slopes in the Willingen ski area . The cable car, hut and tower are handicapped accessible and have appropriately equipped toilet facilities and baby changing rooms. Free parking spaces are available at the valley station.
