Euboia (daughter of Asterion)

Euboia ( Greek  Εὔβοια ) is a naiad of Greek mythology .

According to Pausanias , Euboia is a daughter of the river god Asterion and, together with her sisters Akraia and Prosymna, the nurse of the goddess Hera . The hill on which the Heraion of Argos is located is named after her, the opposite hill after her sister Akraia and after Prosymna the landscape below the Heraion . As Hera's wet nurse, she is also mentioned in the Etymologicum magnum and Plutarch .
