Eugene Brodhun

Eugen Heinrich Eduard Ernst Brodhun (born October 15, 1860 in Berlin ; † September 19, 1938 there ) was a German physicist .

Life

From 1880 to 1885 he studied at the Berlin University a . a. with Hermann von Helmholtz and at the University of Heidelberg . After becoming a Dr. phil. PhD had it was first assistant at the city Physical Institute and the Physical-Technical Institute in Charlottenburg (now part of the Technical University of Berlin ). From 1888 he was a research assistant and in 1923 a department director. In 1926 he retired.

His main field of work was optics . Together with Otto Lummer (1860–1925) he developed the so-called Lummer-Brodhun cube for the photometric comparison of two light sources.

Brodhun was a member of the German Physical Society .
