Eugen Fischer (theologian)

Eugen Heinrich Fischer (born June 26, 1909 in Rottweil ; † April 21, 1984 ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

The Rottweil am Neckar native Eugen Fischer, son of school professor Eugen Fischer senior and Sofie born Rebstock, turned upon completion of high school studying theology at the universities of Tübingen and Freiburg , until he 1933 the ordination received. In addition to pastoral activities, Fischer then devoted himself to a doctoral degree in Tübingen, which he completed in 1943 with the academic degree of Dr. theol. completed.

He got there in the same year a teaching position, in 1953 habilitated himself as a lecturer for the subjects Canon Law and Church Legal History. In the same year he accepted the offer for the permanent extraordinary professorship for his habilitation subjects at the Philosophical-Theological University in Dillingen , in 1955 he was promoted to full professor, in 1970 he moved to the University of Augsburg in his own capacity , and in 1977 he retired . Eugen Fischer, who also headed the Dillingen study library from 1947 to 1975 , emerged as the author of articles on canon law and church legal history.
