Eugen Zabel (born December 23, 1851 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † February 26, 1924 in Berlin ) was a German journalist , writer , playwright and translator .

Zabel became known as a travel writer, for example with his work Trans-Siberia (1903). In addition to Asia, he also traveled to America and Australia. He translated the play The Red Eminence by Stanley Weyman from English and plays by Ivan Turgenev from Russian.

He also had a name as a music critic. He wrote a biography about Anton Rubinstein and was in contact with Tchaikovsky .
