Eugen von Philippovich (art historian)

Eugen von Philippovich (* 1919 in Vienna ; † August 11, 2004 there ) was an Austrian art historian and art dealer .

On his father's side he was a grandson of the economist Eugen von Philippovich , on his mother's side of Carl Reininghaus , a Viennese brewery owner, art collector and patron. After studying art history, he worked as an art dealer in Copenhagen . He was mainly concerned with the history of ivory art and rare art chamber objects .
