Eugene R. Liebert (* 1866 in Berlin ; † August 27, 1945 in Milwaukee ) was an American architect of German descent.

Germania Building in Milwaukee

Liebert came to Milwaukee in 1883 and initially worked in the Trostel & Gallun tannery and from 1884 as a draftsman for the architect HC Koch . From 1887 onwards he worked as a draftsman with Herman Schnetzky and in 1892 he became a partner of “Schnetsky and Liebert” before setting up his own business in 1897. Liebert worked primarily for German immigrants in Milwaukee and Wisconsin . 37 of the 44 private houses he built were built for families of German origin. The notable buildings in cooperation with Schnetzky include the St. Michaels Church (1892) and the Germania Building (1896), which are landmarks of Milwaukee today. The same applies to the Harnischfeger House , which Liebert built in 1905 in neo-Renaissance style for the entrepreneur Henry Harnischfeger .

Liebert died in 1945 in the house he designed and built in 1887 on North Holton Street.
