Euglena texta is a species from the genus Euglena . It occurs in plankton in strongly eutrophic stagnant waters. It is sporadically found en masse in shallow waters.

features

Euglena texta is a 50 to 60 micrometer large stripe green sphere. The cells are almost spherical. The pellicle is completely rigid and has stripes. The chloroplasts are hexagonal. The paramylum starch bodies are slightly smaller than the chloroplasts. The eye spot is red.
