Eula Beal

Eula Beal (born January 25, 1919 in Riverside , California , † July 29, 2008 in Napa , California) was an American concert and opera singer with the vocal range contra-alto .

During her career she sang with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Boston Pops Orchestra . Beal became known for her role in Concert Magic , the first full-length concert film from 1947. There she sang accompanied by Adolph Baller and Yehudi Menuhin, among others . In 1948 she appeared in the San Francisco Opera as Erda in Siegfried and as landlady in Boris Godunow .

In 1941 she married the photographer William Garnett (1916-2006) and had three children with him. After around ten years of concert activity, she largely withdrew in favor of her family and only performed locally.
