Euleia heraclei is a fly from the family of bored flies (Tephritidae).
features
The flies reach a body length of 4.0 to 6.0 millimeters. Your thorax and abdomen are shiny yellow or blackish in color, the sides of the mesonotum have whitish longitudinal stripes. The post-cutellum is black. The species has conspicuously patterned wings with black bands. The face has a raised longitudinal rib.
Occurrence and way of life
The animals come from Europe to Central Asia. The larvae mine in various umbelliferae, such as hogweed ( Heracleum ), parsnips ( Pastinaca ) or water cloves ( Cicuta ) and can occasionally cause damage to celery and parsnips in agriculture.
