The succulent Euphorbia arida forms very small shrubs in which the roots merge into the plant body. The main shoot is 5 centimeters long and wide and is divided into 8 millimeter sections by means of a pattern. The spread out and greyish-colored shoots are up to 3.7 centimeters long and about 1 centimeter thick. They stand radially around the central vegetation point and are patterned with protruding and obliquely elongated, up to 7 millimeters long and 3 millimeters wide warts. The linear leaves are up to 3 millimeters long and are short-lived.

Individual cymes are formed at the shoot tips. They stand on inflorescence stalks with a length of 8 millimeters. Below the cymen are four to five long-lived bracts . The cyathia reach 4 millimeters in diameter and the individual nectar glands are colored cloudy green and have two to 4 short appendages at the edges. The seated ovary is covered with thin hair. Nothing is known about the fruit and the seed.
