Euphorbia capmanambatoensis is a species of the genus milkweed ( Euphorbia ) in the family of the milkweed family(Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia capmanambatoensis forms sparsely branched shrubs and grows to around 70 centimeters high and 1 meter wide. At the tips of the octagonal and up to 2.5 centimeters thick shoots, the broad, egg-shaped leaves stand in a rosette. They are up to 4 centimeters wide and 3 centimeters long and are often reddish, up to 1.5 centimeters long petiole. The cartilaginous stipules are bristly and are up to 1 centimeter long. They merge into one another along the edge of the shoots.
The inflorescence consists of almost terminal cymes which are forked once or twice and are almost sessile. The yellowish cyathophylls, up to 1 centimeter in size, envelop the small cyathium . The bluntly lobed fruit is almost sessile and becomes 5 millimeters wide and 7 millimeters long. The small seed has warts.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia capmanambatoensis is endemic in the northeast of Madagascar , in the north of Iharana in crevices on granite rocks at altitudes of 50 to 100 meters. The plants often grow in association with Aloe fragilis .
The species was first described in 1995 by Werner Rauh .
