Euphorbia cibdela is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia cibdela forms richly branched bushes up to 1 meter in height that are dioecious . The shoots are almost upright and further branching is opposite. The internodes are 1.8 to 3 centimeters long and the shoots are 4 millimeters thick. The short-lived leaves are up to 2.7 millimeters long and 0.7 millimeters wide.

The inflorescence consists of individual cyathia or simple cymen that are sessile. The bracts are similar to the leaves. The cyathia are covered with downy hairs and reach a diameter of 3 millimeters. The elliptical nectar glands are single. The almost spherical fruit is 3.5 millimeters in size and is almost sitting. Nothing is known about the seed.

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia cibdela is widespread in Namibia in the great Namaqualand .

The species was first described in 1915 by Nicholas Edward Brown . Synonyms for this species are Tirucallia cibdela (NEBr.) PVHeath (1996) and Euphorbia pseudobrachiata Dinter (1923).
