description

The succulent Euphorbia cylindrica forms strong herbaceous plants with a main shoot up to 40 centimeters high. The sprout, which is only slightly branched, reaches a diameter of 5 centimeters and is patterned on the surface with protruding and conically shaped warts. These are up to 5 millimeters in size and are arranged in nine to ten spirally arranged rows. The elongated leaves are in clusters at the shoot tips. They are up to 60 millimeters long and 9 millimeters wide. The petiole becomes 1 centimeter long and the leaf margins are wavy.

Individual cyathia with an inflorescence stalk 1 centimeter long are formed. The three to four bracts are elongated and covered with very small downy hairs. The cyathia are up to 5 millimeters in size and the elongated nectar glands have a finely notched edge. The almost spherical fruit reaches 7 millimeters in diameter and is hairy. It stands on a 5 millimeter long handle. The egg-shaped seed has an almost smooth surface.
