Euphorbia decidua is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia decidua grows geophytically with a large, bulbous root. The up to 12 centimeters long and ephemeral branches arise from the central vegetation point. They grow up to 5 millimeters thick and are covered with protruding warts. The thorn shields reach a diameter of about 2.5 millimeters and the thorns are 1.5 to 4.5 millimeters long. Ephemeral leaves are formed that are lanceolate and about 3 millimeters long and 1 millimeter wide. On very young plants, up to 3 leaves develop from the vegetation point, which can be up to 5 millimeters long and 1.5 millimeters wide.

After the twigs have been thrown off, densely arranged and one to two-fold bifurcated cymen develop around the vegetation point. The inflorescence stalk becomes 1 to 3 centimeters long. The cyathia are about 4 millimeters in size and the nectar glands are reddish in color. The clearly lobed fruit is about 3.2 millimeters long and 4 millimeters wide. It stands on a bent back handle up to 6 millimeters long. The almost spherical seeds reach a diameter of 2 millimeters and have a smooth surface.
