Euphorbia iharanae is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia iharanae grows as a shrub to a height of 100 centimeters with few branches. The five-sided shoots are 1.5 to 2.0 centimeters thick. The egg-shaped leaves are at the tips of the shoots, have white hairs and are up to 7.5 centimeters long and 4.5 centimeters wide. The petiole becomes 1 centimeter long. The cartilaginous stipules are divided into many narrow bristles.
The inflorescence consists of almost terminal cymes , which are forked once or twice and almost sessile. The densely hairy and up to 12 millimeters long and up to 3 millimeters wide cyathophylls envelop the cyathia, which are up to 3 millimeters in diameter . The ovary stands on a stalk up to 4 millimeters long.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia iharanae is endemic to the northeast of Madagascar in the Iharana district on rocks along the coast.
The species was first described in 1995 by Werner Rauh . It is closely related to Euphorbia aureoviridiflora .
