Euphorbia stellispina is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia stellispina grows as a dioecious shrub and reaches a height of 45 centimeters. Dense groups are formed by rungs from the base. The individual shoots reach 3 to 7.5 centimeters in diameter and form 10 to 16 ribs, which are provided with deep furrows in the spaces between them. These ribs are covered with rounded warts at a distance of up to 6 millimeters, which are separated from one another by transverse furrows.
The individual cyathia appear at the shoot tips. The inflorescence stalks are 4 to 10 millimeters long or longer. They carry a whorl with 3 to 5 divergent and sterile, 4 to 10 millimeter long stems. These stems become stiff and thorny and remain on the plants for a long time. The cyathia reach a diameter of up to 4 millimeters and are hairy. The elliptical nectar glands are single. The almost spherical fruit is 5 millimeters in diameter. Nothing is known about the seed.
