history

A first decree dealing with the stock exchanges came from Charles IX. , which concerned the commodity exchange in June 1572 . Charles IX in this decree gave the brokers represented in the Compagnie des agents de change ( French agents de change ) the character of officials for the first time. The brokers had to meet various requirements. In addition to French citizenship, the approval of the French Ministry of Finance had to be obtained for each candidate who was elected. The first commercial Paris stock exchange existed in 1639 when the functions of the commodity and stock exchange were separated. A decree of April 2, 1639 gave the traders the designation stock traders ( French agents de change ). Only a decree of September 24, 1794 determined the establishment of a stock exchange ( French la bourse ), which spent its first years until 1789 in rue Vivienne No. 6 in the "Hôtel de la Compagnie des Indes". The stock exchange was closed for the first time between June 27, 1793 and April 25, 1795. She moved within the city several times, between 1789 and July 27, 1793 she resided in the nearby Vivienne Gallery , between May 10 and On December 13, 1795 she was a guest at the Louvre , between October 7, 1807 and March 23, 1818 she was housed in the Palais Royal , before she spent her longest period between November 6, 1826 and November 6, 1998 in the Palais Brongniart (also Palais de la Bourse ). The ancient temple-style building was only completed shortly before in November 1825. The palace later housed the derivatives exchanges MATIF ( French Marché à terme des Instruments Financiers ) and MONEP ( French Marché des Options Négociables de Paris ).

After the war-related closure in 1943, trading began again on June 27, 1949. Between 1986 and 1989 she developed the stock index CAC ( French Cotation Assistée en Continu , "continuous listing" ).
