The CAC Next 20 is a French share index of the 20 French public companies with the largest market capitalization behind the 40 companies in the CAC 40 . CAC stands for Cotation Assistée en Continu (continuous listing) and the CAC Next 20, like the CAC 40, is calculated continuously every 30 seconds. The 20 companies represent the possible candidates for inclusion in the CAC 40. The index was first created on December 31, 2002.
