The SCOR SE is a publicly traded French company located in the Avenue Kléber in Paris .

The company operates in the reinsurance industry. With 38 branches worldwide and more than 3,000 employees, SCOR is one of the top 5 in the industry (as of December 2019). The German headquarters are in Cologne .

The company was founded in 1970 on the initiative of the French government and has risen to become a real industry player since the late 1990s, including through the acquisition of competitors. The reinsurers Revios, Converium , Transamerica Re and Generali US Re, among others, have merged into SCOR SE.
