The European Art Academy in Trier (EKA) is a 1977 by Erich Kraemer , was established as a non-profit recognized association and an artistic training center. The academy is located in Trier-West in the buildings of the former Trier slaughterhouse .

Courses

The art school offers a program for beginners, advanced and artists in 18 studios and workshops from February to November. Over 60 lecturers from Germany and Europe teach around 170 courses every year. All artistic techniques are taught: painting, drawing, sculpture, installations, printmaking, photography and new media. The European Art Academy also offers workshops for school trips, art associations and other groups interested in art. In addition to teaching, there are exhibitions, art history lectures and concerts.

The chairman of the supporting association is the department head of the city of Trier responsible for culture. Further members are the University of Trier, University of Trier, Trier-Saarburg District, Trier Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Trier Chamber of Crafts , Society for Fine Arts, City of Trier and the Sparkasse Trier. The European Art Academy is funded by the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, the City of Trier, the Nikolaus Koch Foundation, Trier and the European Art Academy Association

Cooperations

The European Art Academy cooperates in numerous events with the University of Trier , the University of Trier , the Institute for Teacher Training in Speyer and the TCU in Fort Worth / USA.
