The Starcar Europe Service Group AG is one in 1965 in Germany , founded in Car rental . The corporation has had its headquarters in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia , since 1998 . It is a mobility service provider which is represented across Europe with around 1400 rental stations.
history
In 1965, ES Autovermietung GmbH was founded in Bremen by Heinz Detjen as Europa Service Autoverleih and later renamed. In 1988 the company Unix Rent GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Wiesbaden . Six years later, in 1994, the two companies merged to form RC Rental Cooperation GmbH & Co. Autovermietung KG. For the first time, the company is acting as a single customer for the automotive industry. The resulting high purchase quantities led to greatly improved purchasing conditions for the affiliated licensees. In 1997 the company was converted into a stock corporation. The name was later changed to Europa Service Autovermietung. Since 2013, Europa Service Autovermietung with its subsidiaries Starcar, Starcar Mobility, AutoHopper Deutschland, Drive-CarSharing, Europa Service rent a car and others has been managed by the three board members Jens Erik Hilgerloh, Detlef Kehler and Markus Hoff.

The Starcar Europa Service Group serves various mobility needs via a partner network to which more than 650 medium-sized, independent car rental companies across Europe are connected. The partners are mostly independent companies with their own corporate brand and have a modern fleet of vehicles. They have models from all well-known manufacturers and a large portfolio of commercial and special vehicles. The company offers co-branding via the license systems Europa Service Autovermietung, Starcar and Let's rent a car, although this has not played a role in central corporate communication for several years. Starcar Europa Service Group is the licensor, purchasing organization and service provider for its affiliated partners.
Further business areas
In addition to the corporate customer business, the ES service company also focuses on assistance , accident replacement vehicles and the end customer business. Among other things, customers can fall back on a service center that is available around the clock every day.

The car rental company operates two separate licensee systems in the Netherlands , Belgium , Luxembourg , Italy , Hungary , the Balearic Islands and Turkey , as well as through cooperation partners in Sweden and Poland with Europa Service and Let's rent a car . The Dutch subsidiary, Auto Rent Europa Service Franchise BV , was created in 2000 from the merger of UnixRent Autoverhuur and AutoRent Nederland. In 2008, 37 affiliated partners operated a network of stations at 54 locations with a fleet of over 6000 vehicles. AutoRent Europa Service has been the market leader among car rental companies in the Netherlands since 2005.
