The European House is a 60-meter high skyscraper in the city of Bochum , Kurt-Schumacher-Platz 4, across from Bochum Main . It was planned by the Bochum architect Roman Reiser from 1959 and built from 1961 to 1962. The builder was the Kufus brothers in Recklinghausen .

In addition to the 16-storey high-rise office building, the building complex also includes a four-storey building with additional offices and shops extending east to Huestrasse. Today, the first specialist center in downtown Bochum to include ten medical practices is housed in the high-rise building itself . A landmark that can be seen from afar is the rotating Mercedes star on the roof of the skyscraper, part of a neon sign for the Lueg dealership .
