Europaplatz (Berlin)
Europaplatz is the name of the newly created space north of Berlin Central Station . It is located in the Berlin district of Moabit and is bordered to the north by Minna-Cauer-Strasse, Heidestrasse and Friedrich-List-Ufer in the east and by Ella-Trebe-Strasse in the west. It is divided by Invalidenstrasse and is located in the Europacity urban development area .
Nearby are the Berlin Social Court, the Museum für Gegenwart in the old Hamburger Bahnhof , the Natural History Museum , the new history park at the former Lehrter Straße cell prison , police authorities and, for the time being (as of 2010), the Lehrter Straße correctional facility . The former railway site to the north of Invalidenstrasse, west of Heidestrasse, is currently being developed as a mixed-use district.
The Europaplatz should not be confused with Breitscheidplatz , where the Europa-Center is located.
Washingtonplatz was newly created south of the main train station .
