The Hanza Media (until 1 July 2016 Europa Press Holding , or EPH ) is the largest newspaper - and magazine publisher in Croatia , based in Zagreb . From December 1998 to February 2014 the German WAZ media group took a 49% stake in EPH .

The EPH includes the second largest daily newspaper Jutarnji list (average circulation approx. 115,000 copies), the sports newspaper Sportske Novosti (circulation: approx. 40,000 copies), the daily business paper Dnevnik , the weekly magazines Globus and Gloria . The Croatian offshoots of Playboy and Cosmopolitan are being relocated. The publishing house publishes a total of 18 magazine titles with an average total circulation of around 660,000 copies.

The EPH also participates in Slobodna Dalmacija with the help of the German WAZ media group . 34.63% of the group, which was previously owned by the Croatian state, was bought from it for 24.5 million kunas , for a further 83.46 million kunas EPH took over a total of 70% of Slobodna Dalmacija in 2005 .

Marijan Hanžeković was a 100% partner in Hanza Media until his death in January 2018 . This made him the most powerful man on the Croatian media scene.
