European Association of Political Consultants

The European Association of Political Consultants (EAPC) represents the interests of political consultants from Europe.

It was founded in 1996 in Vienna . Its activities include holding annual conferences and the EAPC Master Class, as well as issuing publications. The organization serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas between political advisors and has set itself the goal of strengthening democratic structures in Europe. The EAPC is in close contact with comparable organizations, in particular the IAPC ( International Association of Political Consultants ). The current president is Igor Mintusov , while Ilkkha Ahtokivi from Finland and Kristina Wilfore from Turkey act as vice-presidents. The membership directory, which is open to the public, currently has 60 political advisors from 18 European countries among its members, Austria is the most represented with 11 members.

Conferences and publications

From 2003 to 2005 the organization published the volume “Election Time - The European Yearbook of Political Campaigning”, which describes election campaigns and their effects in Europe. The results of the 15th EAPC conference in Vienna in 2010 are summarized in a book on the subject of "Emotions in Politics and Campaigning".

Once a year, the EAPC organizes a members' conference at whose panels and speeches the exchange of experience among political advisors from different countries is the focus, the next time in Vienna at the beginning of May 2010. The conferences of recent years took place in Zurich (2009), Copenhagen (2008) , Vilnius (2006), Innsbruck (2002) and Moscow (2000).

The next conference will take place from May 30th 2019 to May 31st 2019 in Athens , Greece.
