Gerlinde Manz-Christ

Gerlinde Manz-Christ (born March 15, 1960 in Linz ) is an Austrian diplomat , keynote speaker and author on the subject of diplomatic communication .

Live and act

After studying law ( Dr. iur. ) And interpreting for the English and Spanish language at the Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck , Gerlinde Manz-Christ completed a two-year post-graduate course in international relations at the Diplomatic Academy Vienna , as well as studies at the Diplomatic Academy in Madrid and at the University of Oslo .

Before joining the Austrian Foreign Ministry in 1986 , she worked for two years in the Japanese company Itogumi Ltd. in Sapporo , Japan . During her 15 years in the diplomatic service she was at the Austrian Embassy in Dakar and Tel Aviv, and as Deputy Consul General at the Austrian Consulate General in New York. She was deputy chief of protocol, and then headed the press and information department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna.

From 2001 to 2011 Gerlinde Manz-Christ was head of the communication ( public relations ) department at the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein and was government spokesperson. In 2008 she completed the Executive Master's in Business Administration “Leadership and Communication” at the Technical University of Munich . She wrote her master's thesis on "Liechtenstein and the German tax affair: A media discussion on economic and financial issues, ethics and national interests".

Manz-Christ teaches as a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Innsbruck and at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna.

Awards

In 2001 she was awarded the Great Silver Medal of Honor by the Austrian Federal President with the Star for Services to the Republic of Austria. In addition, she was accepted into the rank of Grand Officer of the Jordanian Star Order. This was followed in 2013 by the admission into the Hall of Fame of the Diplomatic Academy Vienna.
