Eva Hagenbäumer

Eva Hagenbäumer (born January 5, 1967 in Wiesbaden , after marrying Hansen ) is a former German hockey player and Olympic participant in 1992 and 1996.

Eva Hagenbäumer played for the Rüsselsheim RK , with whom she became German youth champion in 1985. In 1990 the defensive player won her first German championship title in the hall in the adult class, which was followed by four more titles by 1998. In field hockey, the Rüsselsheim team won the title in 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1997.

The trained physiotherapist made her debut in the German national hockey team in 1989 . At her first major tournament, the 1989 Champions Trophy, she finished third. In early 1990 she won the title at the European Indoor Championships with the German team. At the 1990 World Cup in Sydney, the German team finished eighth. In 1991, the German team won the silver medal at the European Field Hockey Championship after losing to England in the final. The following year, the Spanish hosts were the winners at the Olympic Games in Barcelona , Eva Hagenbäumer did not play in the final, but also received the silver medal after two tournaments.

She also received the Silver Bay Leaf on June 23, 1993.

In 1993 Eva Hagenbäumer was part of the German winning team at a European indoor championship for the second time, and at the 1993 Champions Trophy she took third place with the German team. At the 1994 World Cup in Dublin, the team finished fourth. After a bronze medal at the European field hockey championship in 1995 , the German team came fourth in the 1995 Champions Trophy, as in the previous year's world championships. Eva Hagenbäumer ended her international career after finishing sixth at the Olympic Games in Atlanta .

Eva Hagenbäumer played a total of 140 international matches from 1989 to 1996, 10 of them indoors.
