Eva Meyer-Hermann

Eva Meyer-Hermann (* 1962 in Cologne ) is a German art historian and exhibition curator. She published numerous writings on modern art .

life and work

Eva Meyer-Hermann began her studies at the State Art Academy in Stuttgart in 1981 and moved the following year to the University of Bonn to study art history, classical archeology and urban planning. She received her doctorate with distinction (“summa cum laude et egregia”) with Eduard Trier in 1991 with a thesis on the floor sculpture phenomenon .

From 1992 to 1995 Eva Meyer-Hermann worked as a curator at the Krefeld art museums Haus Lange and Haus Esters . She then became vice director of the Kunsthalle Nürnberg and a little later also director (until 1998).

1999–2001 she was the founding director of the private Hauser and Wirth collection in the St. Gallen Lokremise. At the same time, she was the curator / director of the Friedrich Christian Flick Collection in Zurich. In 2002 she was offered a position at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven , where she worked for four years as a senior curator.

She has been a freelance journalist and curator since 2005. Her office cakesmeyer / Independent Exhibitions Makers is located in Berlin / Kreuzberg. Eva Meyer-Hermann received Andy Warhol from the Dutch department of the Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art for her exhibition and publication . Other Voices, Other Room s the Dutch AICA Award 2008. In 2009 her concept for the exhibition Mike Kelley.Themes & Variations from 35 Years at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam was awarded the Turing Art Grant.
