Eva Ribich (* 1970 in Chapel Hill , North Carolina ) is a Swedish poet .

Life

Eva Ribich was born in the United States . At the age of four the family moved to Sweden , where they grew up in Täby . She studied computer science and systems science at the IT University in Kista and creative writing at the north författarskola on Biskops-Arnö .

She made her debut as a writer with the collection of poems in 1997. A year later she received the Stig-Carlson Prize on the grounds that she described "everyday things with a sensuality and sensitivity" . For her poetry collection Ljuset kommer in underifrån , published in 2007 , she received both the Gerard Bonnier Poetry Prize endowed with 100,000 Swedish kronor and the Guldprinsen endowed with 25,000 Swedish kroner .

Ribich lives openly gay and in Stockholm .
