Eva Sauer (2012)

Eva Sauer (born August 10, 1995 in Waldaschaff ) is a former German wrestler . She was vice world champion, two-time European and seven-time German champion.

Life

Eva Sauer started wrestling at a very early age, and her father and brother are also involved in this sport. At first she was introduced to the sport in a playful way and in the following years Sauer developed into a successful wrestler.

Her first major success was winning the German youth championship in 2007 in the weight class up to 31 kg body weight. In 2009 she again took first place in this championship in the weight class up to 37 kg. 2010 in the weight class up to 43 kg body weight, 2011 up to 46 kg body weight and 2012 up to 49 kg body weight as well.

Eva Sauer celebrated her first major success on the international wrestling mat in 2010 when she took first place in the European Junior Championships (Cadets) in Sarajevo in the weight class up to 43 kg. In 2011 she was also able to fight for first place in the championship in the weight category up to 46 kg.

In 2012 Eva Sauer started for the first time at the German Championships for women in the weight class up to 51 kg where she finished third. Eva Sauer was also nominated for the European Cadet Championship in 2012. In addition, Sauer started at the Junior World Championship in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, where she reached second place and became vice world champion. Also in 2013 Eva Sauer started at the German Women's Championships where she took first place. This was her sixth German championship title. She secured her seventh title in March 2015 at the German Junior Junior Women Championship.

In September 2019 Eva Sauer played her last tournament and then announced on her Facebook profile that she would officially end her career after 19 years on the mat.

Eva Sauer lives in Waldaschaff in Bavaria .
