Evangelical women in Germany

The registered association of Evangelical Women in Germany (EFiD) of the Evangelical Church in Germany is a nationwide umbrella organization of 40 Protestant women's associations. The association is based in Hanover .

history

The association was founded in 2008. It was created through the merger of Evangelical Women's Aid in Germany and Evangelical Women's Work in Germany . The association is based in Hanover, and since March 2009 the Evangelical Center for Men and Women at Berliner Allee 9–11 in Hanover has been the joint office and administrative office of the Evangelical Women in Germany Association. V. and men's work of the Evangelical Church in Germany . The two associations work closely with one another.

tasks

The association promotes the work of and with the approximately 3 million women of the Protestant women's associations in Germany. It participates in interreligious and ecumenical dialogue and mediates contacts between religions. The association represents the concerns of women at the federal level and networks the work of the member associations in the Evangelical Church in Germany. He writes opinions on laws. He does fundamental work on topics that are relevant to women. He is one of the sponsors of the distance learning course in Feminist Theology . The association publishes papers and statements.

The association works with other organizations and women's associations such as the German Women's Council , the Ecumenical Forum of Christian Women in Europe or the World Day of Prayer .

The organs of the association are the general assembly and the presidium elected by the general assembly.
