description

architecture

The church is built in an east-west direction, the retracted tower forms the western end. The nave has a pointed roof with a three-part hipped roof on the east. The tower is crowned by a tail dome with an attached lantern , a long spire with the tower ball and a weather vane. In a bell house outside the cemetery walls, the two bells of the church ring. The Gothic pointed arch window on the east side of the nave has meanwhile been bricked up. The interior of the church is illuminated by four large rectangular windows. The walled up early Gothic arches in the outer facade are still visible.

Furnishing

The wooden ceiling of the interior is designed as a sky. The two galleries and the richly decorated pulpit altar from the first third of the 18th century are well worth seeing . The second gallery carries the organ, which reaches under the wooden ceiling and bears a prospectus with magnificent baroque carvings and figurative representations of angels making music.

The tabernacle , the place where the holy bread is kept in Catholic churches, dates from the pre-Reformation period (before the 16th century) . It was taken over from the previous building and serves as a container for the sacrament dishes . Above it, a life-size figure of Christ from the 13th century hangs on a new oak cross. The colors gold, white and green dominate the interior. A baptismal angel from 1722 is also worth seeing .
