Evangelical Church Weisbach
The village church Weisbach is a Protestant church in Weisbach, a district of Waldbrunn in the Neckar-Odenwald district in northern Baden-Württemberg .
Efforts to build their own church in Weisbach, which has always belonged to Strümpfelbrunn , date back to the early 20th century, but the realization of the plans failed several times due to the loss of the collected funds during the time of inflation and the currency reform in 1948 . After money had been collected again, the village church was built in 1954/55 according to plans by the Heidelberg architect G. Hauss. Demolition stones, which were broken by the parishioners themselves, as well as donated timber from a nearby wood of the patron saint, Berthold Margrave of Baden, served as building material . The church was consecrated on May 19, 1955.
The small village church is a simple, rectangular building made of exposed masonry with a simple saddle roof , which extends over a small sacristy and a gallery on one side, while a 15.5 meter high open bell tower is attached to the church on the opposite eaves side. The main entrance is on the side of the gable opposite the altar. The gable wall behind the altar area is decorated with a masonry mosaic by the Greiner artist Klaus Arnold , which is not faded in, but was created in the quarry stone bond during the construction of the gable wall. To the side of the altar area is a large window wall, which essentially provides for the lighting of the interior.
The church has 116 seats, in the bell tower there are three bronze bells from the Bachert bell foundry in Karlsruhe.
