The Evangelical Media Academy has been part of the Public Service Office of the North Church in Hamburg since January 1, 2019 and offers more than 100 courses on journalism and public relations every year.

history

Founded in Bad Boll as early as 1949 under the name of Christliche Presse Presse Akademie (cpa) , it was located in Düsseldorf from 2009 to 2015 after several moves . From 1973 the Evangelische Medienakademie brand belonged to the joint venture of Evangelical Journalism (GEP), the central journalistic institution of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD). Most recently, the Evangelical Media Academy belonged to the Evangelical Media Association in the Rhineland. Part of the professional training and further education for journalists was absorbed by the Ruhr Media Academy .

In 2019, the brand moved under the umbrella of the North Church in the Public Service Office in Hamburg. There it combines the journalistic advanced training offers of the previous “Medienbüro Hamburg” with the “public relations course” (no university degree, but its own certificate) as well as the advanced training offers for church public relations in the North Church.
