Eve Aronoff

Eve Aronoff , after marriage to Eve Trivella , (born October 7, 1963 ) is a former judoka from the United States. She was third in the 1982 World Cup and second in the 1987 Pan American Games.

Athletic career

Eve Aronoff was the 1980 US champion in the weight class up to 52 kilograms. From 1981 she fought in the lightweight, the weight class up to 56 kilograms. In 1985, 1986 and 1987 she was US champion in this weight class. At the 1982 World Championships in Paris , she defeated the German Regina Philips in the quarter-finals , and in the semifinals she was defeated by Suzanne Williams from New Zealand . With a victory over Natasha Hernández from Venezuela, Aronoff secured a bronze medal. In 1983 she reached the final of the Fukuoka Cup and then lost to Suzanne Williams.

1985 Aronoff won the Pan American Championships. At the 1986 World Championships in Maastricht, she lost in the quarterfinals to Maria Gontowicz from Poland . After beating Suzanne Williams in the Hope Round, she lost to French Béatrice Rodriguez and finished in seventh place. At the Pan American Games in Indianapolis in 1987 , Aronoff reached the final and received the silver medal behind the Cuban Cecilia Alacán .

At the 1987 World Championships in Essen she was Eve Trivella at the start and lost to Cecilia Alacán in the quarterfinals. The following year, competitions in women's judo were offered as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. At the Olympic tournament , the British Ann Hughes defeated Eve Trivella in her first fight, who was eliminated.
