Evelyn Hübscher

Evelyn Hübscher, b. Matz (born November 22, 1955 in Berlin ) is a former German handball player .

Athletic career

Her club in the GDR league was TSC Berlin , with which the 1.76 meter tall and 70 kilogram heavy player won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1977 and 1979 and the European Champion's Cup in 1978.

With the GDR selection , she won silver at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and the bronze medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow . In 1975 and 1978 she became world champion with this team, also at the world championships in 1982 and 1986 she was in the squad of the GDR. She played 270 international matches .

She has been awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit several times . In 1984 she received this medal in silver.

In 1985 and 1987 she was voted handball woman of the year .

She was married and has two children.
