Evenless ( even less , Eng. Even less ) was a German rock band from Arnsberg , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Influences

Evenless were influenced by Porcupine Tree , among others , which was also evident from the band name, which was the first track on the 1999 Porcupine Tree album "Stupid Dream". Since 1999 - back then under the name Dead Poets - they developed a guitar rock that listeners like to compare with the bands Filter , Counting Crows and Jimmy Eat World . In today's line-up, which came about in 2002 after changing the drummer and the band name, they presented a melody that was in the foreground as evenless.

Band history

The concept album “The Story Of Janus Stark” from 2003 tells over 20 tracks in witty metaphors a coherent story about guilt, atonement, egoism and where this can lead. In an interview that 2 members of Evenless gave to the magazine "Metalius" in May 2005, the musicians describe the conceptual content: "The plot revolves around the main character named" Janus ", who is represented by a masked figure who himself" Joziah "Calls, is kidnapped and who pretends to judge Janus over his sins. Joziah shows Janus his misconduct in the further course based on various people (such as his mother, an ex-girlfriend etc.) and stations in his life. Janus must recognize that he is not as innocent as he always thought, or that actually nobody is "innocent" and in the end - just like the listener - is confronted with a surprising twist. "

Shortly afterwards Evenless made the acquaintance of Jörg Uken, who invited as a producer to his North German Soundlodge Studio to record the successor Songs From The Basement . The album Split Infinity , produced in mid-2005 and released in June 2006 by the record company Yonah Records , was once again recorded in the Soundlodge Studio, Rhauderfehn. It comprises 14 songs and, as the successor to previous albums, underlines the evenless rock sound.

On October 6, 2006, Evenless announced that they would be disbanding. In this context they gave a small farewell tour that took them to Neheim at their last concert on October 28, 2006.
