Everett Brown
Everett G. Brown (born January 1, 1902 in Smith County , Texas , † October 14, 1953 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor.
Born in Texas, the African American starred in around 40 Hollywood productions between 1927 and 1953. Most of the time, the beefy actor played natives, servants or slaves in smaller supporting roles. Brown's better-known films include Hunt for James A. , King Kong and the White Woman, and Gone with the Wind , in which he played the loyal foreman Big Sam . He died at the age of only 51 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles.
