Evi Linnerth

Evi Linnerth (born July 14, 1949 in Osthofen ) is a German secondary school teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Linnerth attended the Osthofen elementary school and the Eleonoren-Gymnasium Worms , where she graduated from high school in 1968. She then studied for teaching at secondary schools at the University of Mainz . In 1971 she passed the first state examination and in 1973 the second state examination. Until 1976 she was a teacher at the Realschule Lahnstein, from 1981 to 1987 at the Realschule Adenau and from 1996 to 2011 at the Leopold-von-Daun-Realschule Daun.

In 1978 Linnerth joined the SPD and was chairwoman of the SPD local association Gerolstein from 1986 to 1988 and chairwoman of the SPD district association Daun from 1988 to 1995. Between 1994 and 1998 she was deputy state chairwoman and from 1989 to 1998 a member of the federal executive committee of the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics. She belonged to the Gerolstein municipal council from 1979 to 1989 and was a member of the Daun district council from 1979 to 1999.

In 1987 she was elected to the eleventh state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which she belonged for two terms until 1996. In the state parliament she was a secretary and a member of the committee for women's issues, the cultural policy committee and the petitions committee. In the 12th electoral term she was deputy chairman of the Interior Committee, member of the Committee on Women's Issues and the Intermediate Committee.

In 1997 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
