Ewa Bem
Ewa Maria Bem-Sibilska (born February 23, 1951 in Warsaw ) is a Polish singer . She is often called the Ella Fitzgerald of Poland.
Live and act
Ewa Bem began her singing career in 1969 in a blues band . In 1970 she sang in the jazz quartet of Zbigniew Seifert . With this quartet she had her first great successes. In 1971 she won the first prize for the best singer at the Lublin Jazz Festival . She then founded her own band, Bemibek, and performed nationally and internationally at jazz festivals. After some personal changes in their band, the name changed to Bemibem . Ewa Bems repertoire expanded from jazz to pop music, so that it reached a wider audience through pop festivals in Poland and thus increased its popularity.
