Marek Bliziński

Marek Bliziński (born March 22, 1947 in Warsaw ; † March 17, 1989 ibid) was a Polish guitarist and composer of modern jazz .

Live and act

Bliziński, who grew up in a culturally conscious family, received his first guitar in 1962, on which he taught himself to play as an autodidact. First he played in the group Czterech, which won the 1967 Igrce Gliwickie competition in 1967 (Bliziński also received first prize as an instrumentalist).

In 1971 Bliziński worked with Krzysztof Sadowski and Wanda Warska . He won a prize at the Jazz nad Odrą festival with the Generacja quartet he founded . In the following years he played with Zbigniew Namysłowski , Michał Urbaniak , Bemibem ( Bemowe Frazy , 1974), Tomasz Stanko , January Jarczyk , Włodzimierz Nahorny , Adam Makowicz , the Novi Singers , January Ptaszyn Wróblewski , Andrzej Trzaskowski , Wojciech Karolak and Janusz Muniak .

With his own trio, Bliziński recorded his debut album, The Wave (Poljazz). In 1983 he went on tour internationally with Namysłowskis Air Condition . In the same year he published his textbook for jazz guitar in Poland and gave workshops. He also started writing for the Jazz Forum and Jazz . He also recorded with Maryla Rodowicz , Andrzej Korzyński , Ryszard Szeremeta and Piotr Schulz .

In 1985 he developed skin cancer ; he died of the consequences of this disease.
