Ewald Brütsch

Ewald Brütsch (born November 9, 1932 in Zurich ) is a former cyclist from Switzerland and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Ewald Brütsch started cycling in 1950. In 1952, with a victory in the Habsburg Tour, he qualified for what was then the A-class of amateurs in Switzerland. He competed in both road races and cross-country races . In 1953 he had his first major success with victory in the Tour of Ticino (with two stage wins). In 1957 he took part in the UCI World Championships in cyclo-cross races for the first time and finished the race in 32nd position. In 1960 he won the national title in the team time trial with his club RV Zurich . At the end of 1961 he ended his career.
