Ewald Gutbier
Ewald Gutbier (born December 10, 1887 in Langensalza ; † February 11, 1965 in Marburg ) was a German archivist and historian .
Life
Gutbier was a historian and received his doctorate from the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin in 1912 . Afterwards he was State Archives Councilor in Marburg and a lecturer at the Marburg Archive School . In 1945, following the sudden death of Rudolf Vaupel, he was temporarily appointed head of the Marburg State Archives until 1946 by the American military administration .
