Ewald König (politician)

Ewald König (born October 17, 1968 in Graz ) is a former Austrian politician.

biography

König spent his youth in Mürzzuschlag , studying music and acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . From 1991 Ewald König became politically active in the Ring of Freedom Youth , where he was quickly elected district chairman in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus , further functions: member of the national board, general secretary and from 1994 to 1996 deputy chairman.

Due to the line of the FPÖ , which in his opinion became more and more radical , König left the party in 1996 and in 1997 took over the leadership of the small party " The Democrats ".

In 1998, König led the election campaign for the Austrian presidential candidate Richard Lugner and achieved a remarkable 9.9% with his protégé. For the 1999 National Council election, it was planned to run together with Lugner's list The Independents , but this failed.

In 2001, König retired from politics; today he runs a tourism company in Skopje , Macedonia .
