Ewald Riebschläger (born October 24, 1904 in Zeitz , Province of Saxony , Prussia ; † October 29, 1993 in Zeitz, Saxony-Anhalt ) was a German diver .
Riebschläger, who started for the SV Zeitz , the club in his hometown, achieved 6th place in the 3-meter jump at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam and 5th in the 10-meter high diving. Before that, in 1927 he was European champion in jumping from the 3-meter board and won the silver medal in high diving.
In 1930 he became German champion in jumping from the 3-meter board. From 1931 to 1933 he won the German diving championships three times in a row. Also in 1931 he was again European champion in jumping from the 3-meter board and won the bronze medal in high diving. Three years later he won bronze again in diving.
Riebschläger ended his active career in 1934. In total, he achieved 150 medals, honorary prizes and special prizes in his career. At the age of 50 he still took part in show jumping. Ewald Riebschläger worked as a self-employed master electrician in his hometown Zeitz. A plaque in honor of Ewald Riebschläger has been in the Zeitz summer pool since 2004.
